Selena Savic talks about multiplicities of radio, AI and ISSA
We talk about Selenas work in the field of critical and creative approach to data and technology and why Selena uses the word Proto-history to describe their research of multiplicities. From the time of the photo camera up until this moment in time, ‚where we have all these pictures of cats and dogs to train AI on‘.
The interview was conducted in the frame of Wiener Festwochen 2025 where Selena Savic facilitated the workshop ‚Radio Frida‘ together with ISSA – Island School of Social Autonomy.
Mentioning the book ‚Radio Explorations‘ edited by Selena Savic we talk about multiple aspects of radio and the workshop they did at Festwochen.
Topic of the workshop ‚Radio Frida‘ was also the Wiener Funkhaus the hub of Wiener Festwochen 2025 and called HOUSE OF THE REPUBLIC. Built in the 1930ies it was also appropriated by the Austrofascist and later the Nazi regime.
During the workshop people soldered little transmitters for radio waves and tried them out in the whole Funkhaus area.
